About our school

Ross Hill Public School is an inclusive and child-centred school that encourages every student from Kindergarten to Year 6 to reach their full potential. Our school is a recognised leader in the pursuit of excellence, innovation and community partnerships.

Our community supports and promotes the values of excellence, respect, responsibility, co-operation, honesty and participation.

Our mission is to provide a safe, secure and happy learning environment, where students become lifelong learners and have a 'You can do it!' philosophy by effectively using the five keys to success- Confidence, Organisation, Resilience, Persistence and Getting along with others. Students achieve strong all-around academic excellence.

Students accomplish exceptional success in dance, drama, music, visual arts, sport, leadership, environmental education, debating and public speaking. Students are offered opportunities for successful participation in statewide and national events in sport, dance, public speaking, debating and university competitions.

The school has a proud history and reputation for achieving many awards for the exemplary programs offered.

Staff enthusiastically embrace and implement innovations in all areas of school life to ensure the best possible learning opportunities for students. The caring and supportive teachers facilitate learning programs with intellectual challenge within stimulating and vibrant learning environments.

Our rich, diverse and innovative programs include the integration of state of the art technology in every classroom, a computer laboratory, successful literacy and numeracy programs, support programs tailored to meet individual needs, student leadership programs,  modern playground equipment and diverse sporting programs, music and dance groups, visual arts programs, a purpose-built creative arts room, transition programs,  and the 'You Can Do It!' social and emotional program.

Parents, carers, local businesses, and the wider local Inverell community are highly supportive of the school. Many parents volunteer their time to assist in classrooms, in the school canteen, with music and dance programs, with the implementation of literacy programs, in fund-raising activities, and in our reading club.

The school enjoys strong relationships and encouragement from local support agencies. The P&C is a highly active and passionate group of parents who contribute significantly to school improvement.
